Floor Acoustic is a premium acoustical underlay engineered for sound isolation and impact noise control under floating laminate, engineered wood, and solid wood flooring. Available in 100 sq.ft. rolls ($30/roll) or 200 sq.ft. rolls ($60/roll), it’s a cost-effective solution for reducing foot traffic noise in condos, apartments, hotels, and multi-storey homes.
Designed for all subfloors, Floor Acoustic delivers strong performance at minimal thickness by combining impact and vibration damping, sound absorption, and a decoupled noise barrier in one layer. The material is easy to trim, form, and install, making it a practical option for both contractors and DIY projects. It features a 3.2 mm thickness with a 6 mil moisture barrier for added moisture protection and is tested to IIC 74 / STC 73, helping reduce the need for additional impact noise layers.

Make sure the subfloor is level, clean, and dry.
Starting in one corner of the room, roll out the underlay with the vapour barrier facing down. Let the pad run 1/2 inch up the exterior walls.
Roll out the second row alongside the first.
Keep the edges aligned tightly together without overlapping.
Repeat until the entire floor is covered.
